Big thanks to mystery writer Elizabeth Spann Craig for featuring me as a guest writer on her blog. I wrote a post for her called 5 Mistakes to Watch Out For When Editing Your Blog Posts

A big advantage to writing guest posts is that I end up getting “fan mail” on my social media sites from readers who have found my advice helpful. That’s always a giant ego boost and offers encouragement, especially on my off-days when my views are down, and it feels like no one is reading my work.

Looking at other writers’ blogs and websites have been immensely helpful in building my own blog and website. When I find a good one, I like to reach out to the author with a request to contribute to their site and/or ask that they contribute to mine. I’m always elated when they agree. It’s important to not make a blog all about yourself and your work.

Having different voices contribute to the text makes it a more well-rounded site, aids in finding content to post regularly, and brings a diverse audience to the site. That being said, look out for a guest post from Craig on my website soon. She has some helpful advice to offer, as all writers do.

You can also tell from her website that she has a strong handle on her writing career. She’s put in the work to achieve the success that she has acquired. The design of her site reflects her personality and the image that she wants to put out into the world.

Thanks for clicking on the link above and reading my guest post. Be sure to leave a comment. Also, sign up to receive Craig’s newsletter so that you can receive more writing tips and posts!
