Healthy eating is a difficult thing for some people. It’s not easy to track the number of calories, make sure the food you eat is of high quality, and choose the most nutritious foods.

The problem is that false information about healthy eating is produced and many people continue to make mistakes without realizing it. For example, some think that they do their best by consuming foods labeled “light” or “slim”. That’s why there are those who cut all food groups, or even worse, those who skip meals to reduce calories. However, a healthy diet needs to contain all the nutrients in the right amount and carry enough calories to all your body functions.

After stating these, I want to offer you 9 healthy nutrition suggestions that you can apply to your daily life and definitely “healthy”.

1. Eat various foods but in small portions

health recipes

One of the secrets of enjoying a healthy and fulfilling diet is to eat different foods, but limit portion sizes. So do not eat the same things every day and try to prepare interesting meals by enjoying different nutrition sources. Also, instead of eating a few large meals a day, it would be better to eat 5 or 6 small meals.

2. Cheese and olives

While consuming foods such as cheese and olives, prefer the ones that are less salty and have less fat (for cheese) or keep these products in water and reduce their salt content. The best thing would be if you prepare your own lactose-free cheese at home!

3. Eat less animal-based proteins

Regular protein consumption on a daily basis is required to maintain a properly functioning nerve system and muscle mass. Although animal proteins are easily accessible, I recommend eating less animal protein and choosing vegetable proteins instead. Because animal proteins contain more fat, and because they are harder to digest, they can lead to intestinal problems. On the other hand, plant-based proteins contain fiber, antioxidants, and other nutrients that help reproduce bacterial flora in the gut.

4. Limit your sugar consumption

Sweets and all sources of refined sugar are the number one enemy of health and being at a healthy weight. Sugar is one of the main causes of metabolic disorders and has been proven to be associated with multiple types of cancer. The worst thing is that sugar is highly addictive and the more you consume, the more you need sugar. Be sure to limit them as much as possible. You can always prepare healthy desserts without sugar or healthy sugar sources and meet your dessert needs!

5. Reduce salt intake

Excessive salt consumption can trigger health problems such as fluid retention, inflammatory diseases and hypertension. Especially in recent years, experts have made numerous warnings to reduce salt consumption as many people consume 5 times more salt than the recommended amount. Instead of salt, you can choose some herbs, vinegar and other healthy spices like turmeric.

6. Drink more water

Meal plans recommended by a nutritionist recommend that you drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Water keeps your body moist and is essential for good functioning of its important systems. In addition, water helps minimize the negative effects of free radicals and affect the condition of the skin.

7. Do not cut the fat

One of the most common mistakes people make is to cut all foods containing fat while trying to eat healthy. Although it is true that fatty foods are high in calories, it is not a good choice to stop consuming fat completely. Your body needs certain types of fat, and they help you get rid of fats that are harmful to your health. Omega 3 fatty acids are one of them, and such oils are found in the following foods:

  • Olive oil
  • Avocado
  • Nuts, peanuts
  • Flax seed
  • Oily fish

8. Choose organic foods

Organic foods carry 100% of their nutrients because they have not been processed. Although they are slightly more expensive than other products, it is worth investing in organic foods for healthy nutrition.

9. Eat raw fruits and vegetables

Raw fruits and vegetables have the highest concentration of beneficial nutrients and are much more beneficial for your body. Eating fruits and vegetables raw helps you lose weight, improve your digestive system and support your body’s detox processes. One of the easiest things you can do is to prepare fruity salad for breakfast and enjoy the rest of your day!
