Thank you so much, Laura, for having me on the blog today! I’m Jasmine, and I’m a published novelist, short story writer, and poet.
In celebration of the release of my contemporary romance, Sugar Rush, I’d like to introduce you all to some of my most favourite foodie romances. They’ll make you extremely hungry, so these are books you need to read when you have snacks in easy reach!
The food-themed romance is one of my favourite sub-genres. What could be more perfect than a delicious romance combined with mouthwatering food descriptions and ideas for future meals or snacks! As you have probably guessed, I would be snacking constantly if I didn’t have to do things like go to my job, and sleep. 🙂
Without further ado, please find below four foodie romance recommendations!

Ice Cream Lover by Jackie Lau
I love Lau’s work, and this book is no exception. Chloe, our female main character, is biracial – like me – and runs an ice cream shop (not like me, sadly).
I related to her instantly, as due to her dual heritage, she’s frequently questioned by people with things like “where are you really from?” and even “what are you.” Despite this, she’s perky and sweet and meets life’s challenges head on.
Enter Drew, an ice cream hater, due to being roasted by his ex in a book about ice cream. Ice cream is not high on his list of faves, but he is reluctantly charmed by Chloe, and a romance begins. I adored this sweet, fluffy slice of escapism.
So We Meet Again by Suzanne Park
Banker Jessie Kim gets laid off in an awful way. After giving an amazing “F**k you all” speech to her terrible employers, she moves back home and looks for ways to reinvent herself.
She soon meets her previous childhood nemesis Daniel – delicious Daniel ! – and gets an idea for a Korean youtube channel and subsequent sauces. The descriptions are mouthwatering, the supporting cast is hilarious and Jessie is so warm and relatable!
Somewhere Only We Know by Kate Chambers
This book is such a warm hug in e-book/page form. Baker Jane gets to meet her long-term celebrity crush, Lincoln, when she enters her bakery in a tv contest. Initially these two don’t hit it off, but between many scrumptious bakes, the walls each have thrown up come down and the result is a satisfyingly sweet romance, with tons of sports referencing and cosy banter. Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts
Roberts is the writer that made me aspire to become a romance author. Her stories are character driven and the women she writes feel like they could walk off the page.
In this book, Chef Laurel is no exception. I love her sarcasm and snarkiness.
Despite being successful, Laurel feels her childhood crush is out of her league, and when things finally start happening, she’s too stubborn to admit it. The push and pull between her and Del means that when sparks finally start to fly between them, it’s as satisfying as one of Laurel’s own patisserie creations.
About Jasmine Luck
Thanks so much for reading. I hope you’ve found something from the above you might like to escape into. Foodie romances are my absolute favourite, and I especially love when they, very occasionally, contain recipes in the back!
If you’d like to know more about my own food-based romance, Sugar Rush, a try, here’s a little more about it:
🌟 biracial rep
🌟 yummy carpenter hero
🌟 loving family on both sides of the Atlantic
🌟 Asian-fusion baked goods galore!
An escape across the Atlantic, where she can cover her cousin’s bakery and test out her popular Asian-fusion treats, is the healing distraction Londoner Maddie Liu needs after her failed engagement.
Her bags are only packed for a few weeks, but the family friend who collects her at the airport is an unexpected and irresistible temptation.
Rick Callahan left the Army to take over his dad’s carpentry business and make a home for his sister and her son. He keeps himself busy providing for them, so there isn’t time for romance in his mind. But everything changes when he meets Maddie, and they realize how much they need each other.
Family and friends help Maddie feel at home, but it’s Rick who makes her yearn to stay, even though the career she has built is across an ocean.
When her past shows up in Kentucky, and the date of her return flight creeps closer, Rick and Maddie must decide if their sugar rush is worth the risk.
