10 Bloggers Banner

Nobody reads and respects blogs more than fellow bloggers. We support each other, whether it’s sharing content, commenting on posts, or following each other’s social media accounts. Without other bloggers, my blog would be nothing. So I decided to compile a list of 10 bloggers whose posts have taught me new things, inspired me to write new posts, and generally entertained me with their work. If you discover a new blogger from this list, leave a comment, and let them know what you like about their site! Here are 10 bloggers you should be following.

Why it’s great

I’m not a mom, but sometimes you need a mom to help you through the blogging world. Boss Single Mama is my go-to mom for this very topic. She blogs about blogging along with money management and motherhood, two topics that interest me, even though they’re both topics that I don’t currently need help with. Her website design is clean and inviting. Her posts are SEO and reader-friendly which reminds me to focus on the same. Most of all, she just knows what she’s talking about.

Why it’s great

I first came across the GoldenBloggerz Facebook group as a way to help promote my blog posts, and it has been instrumental in helping me to gain views and grow my followers. On top of that, Chris Kosto runs a blog where he offers blogging, SEO, and freelance writing tips in clear, detailed posts full of charts and graphics that drive his points home.

His back story is worth a read, and his formula for success is straightforward and proven.  There are also guest post opportunities, advertising promotions, and tons of free materials to explore. Their reviews are detailed and typically positive, though they’re not afraid to let readers know about what didn’t work for them about a story. They are also generous about reading and commenting on other bloggers’ posts.

Love Popcorn

Niche: film reviewer

Why it’s great

Love Popcorn has a really intelligent yet easy-going perspective when it comes to reviewing movies. Her picks are mainstream. However, she gives each piece a critical but fair analysis with personal preference injected in between.

Her blog layout allows you to scroll through several thumbnail posts at once. So, it’s easy to see her catalogue of work. It also displays her various blog post formats, such as her top 10 series, movie links, and basic reviews. Her posts are also the perfect length. While I tend to drone on when it comes to reviewing movies, she gets to the point fast without leaving anything behind.

Nyxie’s Nook

Niche: mental health

Website

Twitter: @nyxiesnook

Why it’s great

Nyxie’s Nook is a blog about mental health, eating disorders, and recovery. She’s very open about her own struggles with eating disorders, talking about her own setbacks and triumphs. I love her personal essays which showcase how both her past trauma and current struggles are tied into her relationship with food.

Before reading her blog, I didn’t realize that an eating disorder, like hers especially, isn’t always about body image issues and vanity as much as it’s about grasping for control. The same way that OCD sufferers and self-harm victims have their tics, restricting food intake is just another method of gaining control over their life.

Nyxie now hosts a podcast called “Let’s Talk About It.” She’s also started her own Patreon to expand her audience and help others.

The Prepping Wife

Niche: survivalist expert

Why it’s great

I don’t carry a 10-pound purse and a trunk full of supplies around only to ignore a blog by an expert who knows how to take things a step further when preparing for an emergency. The Prepping Wife’s blog appeals to the planner in me. She knows exactly what steps to take to be prepared in the wake of everything from an overnight power outage to an extreme natural disaster.

Yet, there’s not an ounce of paranoia in her writing, just practicality. She shows you what supplies to buy and what steps to take not only to survive an emergency but to live comfortably through it. I’ve made note of several pieces of advice that I’ve read on her site, and it gives me a sense of calm in the knowledge that I’ve accumulated from her.

Niche: mental health

Why it’s great

There’s a tendency for mental health bloggers to use their platform more as a journal than as a tool to help others using their experiences. Natasha uses her knowledge and experiences to educate, inform, and help others dealing with mental health issues like her own. She also works in more positive topics such as beauty, home, and parenting posts so that her platform is a balance of positive and negative elements, much like life.
